tire problems at peachstate
This weekend we where at Peach state. In practice we had the fastest time in qualifying we were 4th fastest and in the race we were 8th. In practice we where really good and put up the fastest time by a whole tenth. When qualifying rolled around I went out about last and I ran a 18.02 and sat fourth with the pole being a 17.87. in the start of the race we took off and I ran the bottom and then moved to the top. I ran around the top and worked my way up to 2nd by lap 30 and I was running the leader down when we had a caution. On the restart I was determined to try and claim the point but my charge failed. About lap 55 my car went bad and became awfully tight. I could take it to the bottom of the track and it would push all the way to the top of the track. I went from running the leader down to loosing a lap to him. We still managed to hold onto a 8th place finish. When we came into the pits the crew went over the car to see why the car had gone so bad. They found on the right front a huge “gash” and I looked as though the tire had been flat spotted on two sides. All of my guys did an amazing job this weekend and put a car under me that was capable of winning for the third time we just had a freak thing happen and it’s a shame the it had to happen to us. Next weekend were off to run a double header at 5 flags and Mobile. Come out and watch it be a good reason to skip school!!!
