Gresham Has Short Night At CARQUEST 100

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JEFFERSON, GA (May 15, 2010) – Max Gresham hoped to make a big impact filing a late entry for the CARQUEST 100 Pro Late Model race at Gresham Motorsports Park Saturday.

The 17-year-old Griffin, GA driver made did make an impact and it was anything but late.

“I came off the corner a little high and the car started to come around on me,” said Gresham after crashing on his second qualifying lap. “I got up in the loose stuff and I tried to correct out of the spin. When I did that, the car snapped around and I got up into the wall.”

The hard impact left Gresham’s racer too badly damaged to continue putting him on the sidelines for the 100-lap event, wondering what might have been.

“The car was good,” said Gresham. “We had the fourth-fastest time after my first lap and the car still had more in it.
Unfortunately, we never got to show it.”

Gresham, who wasn’t expected to compete in the CARQUEST event, will now get behind the wheel of the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota this weekend in the May 23 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East event at Iowa Speedway.
