A New Year
As 2009 begins, it is fun to look back on what 2008 brought us. Our accomplishments included Late Model feature wins, Charlie’s first trophy, new crewmembers, and new friends too numerous to count. We at Gresham Motorsports feel privileged to have competed with the best racers in the Southeast (in both Late Models and Bandoleros), and are proud of the legacy of success that we have established.
As we look over the horizon into 2009, we are confident that we can continue to move the program and drivers forward into new venues. Even as Charlie concludes Winter Series racing in the Bandolero, we are making plans to begin the transition to a Legends car. Look for the familiar 7-11 Coupe to run in the Summer Shootouts.
Our Late Model program will take a slightly different look for 2009. While we anticipate running races with one of the Pro Late Model series (there are so many to choose from!), the team is excited about finding new competition in the Super Late Model divisions.
As has been the case for some time now, we expect to run in excess of 50 events next year between the two primary drivers (Jim is threatening to push us well over 50 in the Roadster). This much racing can be very taxing on the crew, but it also gives the great opportunities to discover new skills, and hone some frequently used ones.
