Gresham Ready For Strong Performance In James Garrison Memorial At Lanier

FOR IMMEDITATE RELEASE

GRIFFIN, GA (September 9, 2009) – After a week off testing the NASCAR waters, Max Gresham will return to familiar territory this Saturday when he and his No. 7-11 Gresham Motorsports late model team compete in the James Garrison Memorial 100 at Lanier National Speedway.

“I expect a real strong performance from us Saturday,” said Gresham, who is coming off an impressive third-place finish in the NASCAR Camping World Series West event last Friday at Iowa Speedway. “We’ve been working very hard at the shop and we’re going to be ready for this race. Everyone at Gresham Motorsports wants to get another win under our belts.”

Gresham, who has two American Speed Association Southeast Asphalt Tour late model event wins to his credit this season, will be looking to score his first 2009 Georgia Asphalt Series (GAS) victory Saturday at Lanier. To do it, his Gresham Motorsports team will have to shake off the rust of inactivity.

“It’s been pretty hard for our team to find a groove this season,” said Gresham. “When you have had as many rain outs and cancellations as we have this season, it’s tough to get into a rythmn. It’s just tough, tough, tough to build some momentum when you are racing just once or twice a month. Our racing schedule this season is pretty spread out to begin with and when we don’t get to race, it makes it just that much tougher to get back in a groove again.”

Gresham is hoping he and his Gresham Motorsports Park/World Crown 300 sponsored late model will be able to find that sweet spot a Lanier, a track where the 16-year-old driver has raced and won many times in his eight-year driving career.

“There’s no reason we can’t win at Lanier Saturday night,” said Gresham. “I know the team is ready and I’m coming off a solid performance from last week in the NASCAR Camping World West race at Iowa, so I know we are going to be pumped. Like every race, we’re going to Lanier this weekend to win. It would be a great honor to win the James Garrison Memorial 100. I think we can do it.”

Racing Saturday at Lanier will begin Saturday at 7 p.m. Eastern Time.
