Last year, Max Gresham proved he could win an Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) short-track stock car race. Thanks to a new association between Gresham and Venturini Motorsports, the young driver will be shooting for ARCA superspeedway victories in 2011.
Gresham - the winner of the Tim Richmond Memorial 200 at Mansfield (OH) Speedway last July – will pilot a Venturini Motorsports Toyota Camry in five big-track events this season.
Gresham’s ARCA schedule includes Michigan, Chicagoland, Pocono (twice) and Kansas Speedways.
All five events will be televised live on SPEEDTV.
Gresham, now a senior high school student at Woodward Academy in College Park, GA, won the pole position in his ARCA career debut at Salem (IN) Speedway last May. He then followed it up with a trip to Victory Lane in the prestigious Richmond Memorial event at Mansfield in July in only his third career ARCA start.
Gresham also started his own NASCAR legacy in 2010 winning two NASCAR K&N Pro Series East events – one at South Boston (VA) Speedway and the other at Iowa Speedway – and K&N pole positions at South Boston and Dover (DE) Speedway.
All came behind the wheel of a Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry.
Gresham will be looking to expand his NASCAR career in 2011. The Griffin, GA driver will turn 18 years old on April 30, 2011 making him eligible for select NASCAR Truck and Nationwide events. Gresham also hopes to again compete in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series in 2011.
