Max began his racing career in 2002 at the age of 8 in Bandoleros. The early years were tough as he cut his teeth on the quarter mile ovals at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Lowe’s Motor Speedway.  His 4 year Bandolero Bandit career culminated in 5 series Championships in 2005 including Thursday Thunder, Lowe’s Summer Shootout, Georgia Winter Series, and AMS Winter Flurries series, and the Georgia points championship.

In 2006 Max strapped into a Legends car, and he embarked on a semi-pro career that featured 2 wins and the Semi-Pro National Championship.  Max’s Pro Legends career began in 2007 and featured 4 feature wins and 25 Top 10 finishes. In 2007 Max saw the start of a Pro Late Model career (4 starts) which was highlighted with a win in the GM Performance Parts Shootout and 2 Top 10 finishes.

A highly successful Pro Late Model schedule was completed in 2008.  The team elected not to compete for a track or series championships, but instead sought the best competition among the track and touring series running similar rules packages.  Competing in the ASA Late Model Series, Georgia Asphalt Series, and ASA Southeast Asphalt tours, Max gained experience at familiar tracks such as Watermelon Capitol (Cordele, GA), Peach State (Jefferson, GA), and Lanier National (Braselton, GA).  These series also took the team to many new venues including New Smyrna Speedway (Daytona, FL), Five Flags Speedway (Pensacola, FL), Mobile International Speedway (Mobile, AL), South Alabama Speedway (Opp, AL), and Music City Motorplex (Nashville,TN).  Max’s 22 feature starts resulted in 16 top ten finishes, 7 top fives, and 2 feature wins:
September 20th, Senoia Georgia, Georgia Asphalt Series
September 27th, Lanier National Speedway, Georgia State Championships

The team missed only one start (May 3rd at Peachstate broken ring gear in qualifying), and had only 4 DNF’s (3 mechanical and one wreck).
